Originally Dave Methleys car, the car has been campaigned since 2001 in endurance racing with great success., including 3rd overall in Nurburgring Marathon in 2009, 2010 and 2012 respectively. It was the overall winner of 2009 ADAC European Endurance series and in 2010 won the Masters Gents drivers series, as well as 3 top ten finishes in Spa 6 hours. Offered is a well proven and top running Healey 3000 full FIA app. K race car with race victories from Spa and Nürburgring among others. It was imported from Florida to Belgium in 1990 when it was subject to a full body off restoration. It was used for endurance rallying and occasional racing events during the 90’s. The car was sold to the UK in 2003 and engine, gearbox, chassis and suspension was rebuild by well-known Healey competition specialist David Smithies with the aim to make it a robust endurance car. The car was also converted to RHD and Denis Welch Motorsport has also been maintaining this car. The cars current owner bought the car in 2011 and raced it for the full season. Prior to 2012 the car was substantially up-graded by Anders Schildt’s company Sideways Engineering AB. The car had a complete rebuild of the brake system, new silencer, 6 inch bolt on minilite wheels, numerous up-grades to suspension incl. new springs, bushes etc. The engine was opened, inspected and up-graded with a JP1 camshaft from Sideways and is now delivering ~270bhp. The car has been generally developed by the best professionals in the Healey Racing world for the last 10 years. It has a full documentation of all rebuild and service cost from 1989 to date. It has proved very reliable – started 19 races over 10 weekends in 2012 with only 1 DNF due to a broken 10p electrical connector. A good performance benchmark is SPA lap times – the car did very strong 3:06’s with Grace/Smithies at the wheel – and since then the engine delivers ~40 horsepower more. Based on 2012 race results it’s the second fastest (to Anders Schildt) of the 6 currently active Scandinavian Healey 3000’s. 2012 results in Denmark/Sweden includes 1 first and 8 second in the 65 GTS class and 2’nd overall in the Danish 65 GTS championship. The car is completely race ready apart from a cracked wind screen and cosmetic repairs to rear left (new panels can be included). This car is very well sorted and fast. Anders Schildt has driven it in practice at Ring Knutstorp and was within 1 second of the laptimes he produces in his own car. Priced to sell as it has to finance a new race car.
